The first amendment means nothing without the second.
Our First Amendment guarantees us the right to assemble and protest: We have the right to voice our opinion about government. Offensive speech about government is specifically what the first is designed for. We have the right and we are doing it, we will not stop until all restrictions are lifted.
Our Second Amendment was created to protect the first. The way the Constitution was written and the order of our Bill of Rights was a well though out plan designed to stand up to tyranny. Tyranny and government overreach is exactly what we are experiencing today. We are letting Abbott know we will not stand for unlawful executive orders and we, as Americans are prepared to defend our rights. The guns not only bring this point home but gain us extra attention needed to get our point across. The whole point of a protest is to gain the attention of the press and hence the government.
Our Fourth Amendment is to protect us from illegal searches and seizures. The government has, in fact, seized control of these businesses by forcing them to shut down and giving them rules to follow. Seizing property without a specific court order to do so is unconstitutional.
According to our 5th Amendment if property is seized we must be compensated. This is not happening. Businesses are going under without compensation from unlawful seizures. If property is taken, compensation must be paid! When it's not, businesses suffer financially, and civil unrest develops.
Finally, our 14th Amendment gives us individual rights and economic liberty. No person shall be denied life, liberty, or property without proper legal cause. These orders are a direct violation of this sacred right.
Our rights do not go away during an emergency. The Constitution was written during a time of emergency.
Last but not least: We give these businesses a huge marketing boost. More people will come out because
1) guys with guns are a hot American topic
2) they feel like we will deter constitutionally unlawful arrests and police harassment
3) we promote across multiple different social media platforms
4) the press almost always comes out, gaining tons of publicity and customers for the business
The bottom line: we give business owners the confidence they need to successfully open. We do not charge a fee. We are all doing this because we are sick and tired of seeing our fellow Americans get financially bled dry. Some of them can barely feed their kids.
We are not looking for violence.
Instead, we just want to empower the public to practice all constitutional rights.
